MEDUSA!
This floorless coaster is one heck of a ride! This is one of my first ride reviews so bear with me hear, okay?
As you come down off the freeway to enter Six Flags Marine World, the first thing you notice is this huge gree and purple monstor towering 150ft. in the sky. You start to be intimidated as you watch the huge floorless train fly down the first drop and you hear the terrifying screams of the people on board.
You buy your ticket and run straight for Medusa. As you walk down the pathway next to Kong, you see the sign of Medusa, a huge stone with snakes and the word, Medusa, carved into its surface.
You enter the qeue line and you enter a dark building, Medusa's lair. You walk up three flights of stairs and find yourself at the "boarding floor" where you board the train. You pick the front line miniature qeue and you start to get chills down your spine as you hear the screams getting louder.
You finally hop into your seat and pull down your restraint. Click, click, click as you pull it down. Clear! All clear! The operators clear the train and you head through a little U-turn type dip before heading up one of the world's quietist lifts.
You look down at your feet and notice they are only hanging a foot above the track and as you look past your feet, down the lift, you see the ground getting farther and farther away from you.
You crest the top of the lift and fly down the 150ft. drop! This is it! You lose your breath as you fly down and you barely have time to catch it before you shoot up and through the 128ft. vertical loop which provides awsome hang time. You scream, "Oh my god! I'm falling out!" As you exit the loop, you are slammed into your seat and you twist through the dive loop which is my favorite inversion on Medusa. "AAAAHHHHHHH!!!" You scream even more before you shoot through the camelback rollover and through the Sea Serpent inversion. You see the trim brakes coming towards you and as you feel them slow you down, you catch your breath and are so thankful that you have finally slowed down. It doesn't last long before you fly down a small left hand turn drop before you go through the first corkscrew. You again feel your body getting pressed into your seat as you shoot through the first helix. Next, you head thorugh the second corkscrew before sadly making your final way through the last helix and hitting the final brakes.
Medusa was the best rollercoaster i have ever been on and the themeing is awsome! When you are on the first floor of Medusa's lair, if you look up, you can see the track where you board and exit the ride. If you watch long enough you can see the floor move out of the trains path as the trains begins to leave. This is pretty kewl and can keep you entertained as you wait to begin you adventure.
Medusa is incredibly smooth and has some great elements. The only minus about Medusa is that its too short and i think B&M could have added at least one more corkscrew and one more vertical loop before the trim brakes. Other than that, this is the best ride so far at SFMW. Be sure to ride Medusa in the morning as in the afternoon the wait can add up to an hour and 20min and on the weekends 3 hours! whoa!

KONG!
Marine World's only inverted coaster is Kong. Kong has just gotten a new paint job with an red track and orange supports, while its old color scheme was very ugly having a dark orange track and dirt brown supports. yuck!
Kong's entrance is right next to the pathway that you head down to go on Medusa. As you step up, you see another stone sign with Kong carved into its surface. You step in line and head through the zig zags and long endless jungle of poles and people. As you get closer to the station, you notice that Kong only sits two across, rather than B&M's standard 4 across seating.
A little history people. Kong was built when the park frist opened and it was designed by Intamin, not B&M.
You pick the front row, as you step up to the "miniature line". As the people exit Kong that rode before are leaving, you hop on and pull down your shoulder restraints.
The operators clear the train and you see a gate open and you immediatley start up the lift. At the top, you feel yourself slide down your seat and hit the restraints and the train slowly bends forwards and a terrifying steep angle. You fly down the 115ft. drop and you enter the first heartline spin type inversion. You scream and next you fly over a huge dip that tipe the train on its side. You sly next to the station and you shoot up and through the immelman inversion. "AAHHHHHH" you scream as you feel the G's push you into your seat. You fly through the helix and you enter the double zero g roll. You look down at your feet and the supports look inches away from your feet. You try to lift them up as you don't want your precious feet to get chopped off. Last, you fly around a little dip before you hit the final brakes.
Kong is definitley not the best ride in the park due to the fact that it is very rough on your head and the theming is horrible. The only plus i give kong is the scary fact that you feel your feet are going to get chopped off by the supports. Other than that, the ride is not very good.

ROAR!
This wooden coaster is the best i have ever been on! Roar is the second best coaster in the park and it is just a little bit below Medusa.
You enter the endless line that leads you to RoaR. You walk under a bridge and watch the train above you come out of the station, fly down a dip and start up the lift. You start to feel yourself pushing the people in front of you ina desperate attempt to get on and experience what the people you hear screaming are experiencing.
You finally sit down in your seat after what feels like an endless walk to the station. You pull down your lap bar, which are very comfy and cozy. Your palms start to sweat as you hear the operators clear the train.
The next thing you know, you are flying down the little dip and you look down at the people waiting to conquer Roar and you remeber what it was like to be anxiously waiting down there.
You head up the lift, and at the top, you feel you butt lift up from your seat as you shoot down the 100ft., right hand twisting drop. As you gain speed, you shoot up and down the first around before you fly over a weightlessness hill where you feel your butt lift out of its seat. Next, you fly up a hill where you turn towards the right before flying down another hill. After that, you fly through a couple more turnarounds before shooting through some bunny hills before sadly hitting the brakes.
Roar is an awsome woody! The only minus i give Roar is that its themeing is very bad. It doesn't even have a theme. Other than that, Roar is an awsome ride!

BOOMERANG
Boomerang is not the best coaster at Marine World, but it isn't the least best either. The ride only lasts 50 seconds and if you have to wait in line for more than 30minutes, i don't think its worth it.
Boomerang has no themeing and is a "coast to coaster" meaning it runs forwards and backwards.
As you enter the line, you are taken right under the batwing inversion and you almost have to plug your ears because of all the people screaming. As you board the train, you notice that the ride doesn't start going forwards, but backwards!
The operators clear the train and you feel the train start to move backwards. You slowly rise higher and higher at a very steep angle still going up backwards. You arrive at the top and the train stops, holding you there suspended on the track at a 55 degree angle. All your weight is resting on the restraints and you pray to God that they don't fail.
You start to look around and you notice you can see all over, but that doesn't last long because all of a sudden, you hear a huge puff of air and the train falls down the 90ft. hill. You are suddenly slammed back into your seat and you lose your stomach as you fall. You fly back through the station before shooting through the batwing inversion whcih is exactly like a Cobra Roll, but "Batwing" is just Vekoma's name for it. As you pull out of the Batwing you feel the G's slamming your butt into your seat before you enter the vertical loop. Next, you start to fly up another hill and right before you start to fly back down, the chain cathes you and starts to rise you up and up and up before you stop. Instead of holding you up there like on the first elevator cable type lift, it immedialtey drops you and you do the whole over again backwards!
Boomerang is a fun ride, but certainly not the best ride there, but i still think it is a better ride than Kong. The minuses i giveboomerang is that its rather rough, very short and the themeing is horrible (there isn't any). The only plusses are that it gives you a rush and the G's seem a lot stronger than on any of the other coastrs in SFMW. As you go throguh the vertical loop backwards, you feel as though you are going to pass out (or at least i do).

RIDDLER'S REVENGE
Riddler's Revenge is a huge stand up coaster located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. It was built in 1998 by Bolliger and mabillard. Riddler's Revenge has a huge opening drop of 146ft. and RR's top height is a staggering 156ft! Well let's get started with the review.
When you enter the station, you can see flashing green lights and techno music, making for the RR's theme. The trains are standard B&M stand up coaster trains with four across seating and eight rows.
As you pull down your restraints you start to get real excited not knowing what incredible adventure awaits you as you leave the station. The operators clear the train and you start up the massive 156ft. tall lift. At the top, you fly down a left handed, steep twisting drop. You scream and hang onto the restraints as tight as you can. Before you have to breathe agin, you shoot through the 124ft. tall vertical loop which provides some awsome hang time. As you exit the loop, you feel the G's pushing your feet into the floor before you head through two awsome dive loops which also provide some awsome hang time. Next, you flip upside down again as you head through the 45 degree tilted incline loop. Next, you fly over a bunny hop which also provides some awsome hang time before you hit the trim brakes. You take in a deep breathe, and just get it in as you fly down a little drop before flying through the first corkscrew. From here on, you fly over a second bunny hop before entering a powerful G spiral. You scream even more just as you enter RR's final inversion, a corkscrew before you sadly hit the final brakes.
I have never been to Magic Mountain, like i said, but i am getting these reviews from people that have sent them in and the thing i most tend to see is that the plusses everyone gives Riddler's Revenge are the airtime and the first drop. The minuses are that if you don't stand properly in the seat, it can be painfull.

VIPER
Standing 188ft. tall, Viper is the first major structure you see as you enter Six Flags Magic Mountain. You board the ride in standard Arrow mega- looper trains equipped with over the shoulder restraints. Your restraints are checked and then you slowly make your way up the huge 188ft. tall lift.It takes over a minute to reach the top
At the top, you twist to the left and fly down the massive drop! At the bottom, you feel the G's slamming you into your seat as you reach speeds of up to 70mph! After the massive first drop, you flip through the world's tallest vertical loop. Next, you make your way throguh a 180 degree turn around before you flip throguh two more consecutive vertical loops. After exiting the third and final loop, you hit the trim brakes which almost stop you completley. As you look down onto the parking lot, the train flys down to the right and you enter the boomerang which equals two inversions in one. As you fly out of the boomerang, you hit the double corkscrews and you get awsome hang time because of the slow speed you enter the corkscrews in. Sadly, you hit another set of brakes, dive under the station and hit the final brake run.
People love Viper! The most complaints that people have said is that its a very rough ride. The plusses are the first drop, the first vertical loop and the double corkscrew.

GOLIATH
The year 2000 meant BIG coasters for a lot of theme parks in America. Six Flags Great America got Raging Bull. Six Flags Marine World got Medusa. Paramount's Great America got Stealth, but Six Flags Magic Mountain got GOLIATH! A huge 255ft. hypercoaster that is a monstor of all coasters in California!
Goliath stands 255ft. tall and it reats you too 3 minutes of non stop coaster fury adventure! As you enter the qeue line, you are taken through the remains of an ancient tropical civilization and a lot of broken statue pieces. As you enter the station, you can see the wide, spacious trains and you start to sweat as you hear the terrifying screams of the people being treated to the non stop fury that is Goliath!
You head right onto the front row and as you enter the train, you pull down the restraints, which is just a simple lap bar, and you make your way through a right hand turn. You start to head up the huge lift and it is steeper than usuall lifts and it doesn't take long to get to the top. As you crest the top of the 255ft. drop, you look out and see the once mighty Colossus which seems no bigger than the tinyist of baby coasters, but you don't have much time to marvel at the sights because before you know it, you're flyin down the huge stomach lifting drop!!!! You scream and feel your stomach lift into your throat. At the bottom, you feel the G's forcing your bottom into your seat and then you are plunged into total darkness as you enter the 120ft. long tunnel. You race through it in less than 10seconds as you fly up the next right hand turn at 85mph. You shoot up, turn to the right and you scream feeling like you're gonna fly right out of your seat and smash into the black paved road below. The train flys down and out of the turn and you fly through a huge bunny hop which gives you some awsome airtime. Next, you make your way through a left hand turn before hitting the trim brakes. You are so thankful that you have finally slowed down, but then you fly down a long left hand twisting drop before you enter a tight right hand curve. You feel yourself being pushed into the seat even more as those G Forces start to build. The train then zips up a little ramp and enters the huge double helix. Turning harder....harder......mind fading......body.......fading......weakining. You feel your vision start to get blury as the awsome G force affects are forced onto your body. This helix has caused many people to black out so this is the real deal peeps! Goliath then treats you to a lasting end of curves and other littler helixs before hitting the final brakes.
Goliath is said to be one of the best coasters ever built and this awsome monstor definitley puts the Mountainon the map!

BATMAN: THE RIDE

Batman: the ride, is as of 2001 is Magic Mountain's only inverted roller coaster where your feet dangle below you like ski lift style chairs. This type of seating gives the ride a lot more excitement. Batman is one of my favorite rides at MM and it rocks! As you enter Gotham City Backlot (one of many themed lands at Six Flags magic Mountain), all you see is Batman! As you enter the qeue, you are taken right under the rides heartline spin and you enter a building which looks much like a sewer type building or something.
Once you enter the boarding platform, I would say head for the front or second rows because these have the best views and are much more exciting on an inverted coaster. Once the train is cleared you immediatley start up the 100ft. lift. It doesn't take long to reach the top and you are swung to the right side of the train as you fly down Batman's twisting 87 ft. drop. You then fly into the vertical loop which provides some awsome positive G's. After the loop, you enter my favorite part of Batman, the heartline spin. After this you again fly into a very highe positive G loop. You try to catch your breath as you fly through a tight helix and yu fly to the right and you enter the first corkscrew which can actually be head banging which i have never experienced before on a B&M coaster. Next, you fly to the right again and enter the second corkscrew before flying to the left and slamming into the brakes.
Batman is overall my 5th favorite coaster and i was very suprised on how much G's you pull. You really feel like you are going to pass out on those loops. I highly garuntee Batman to anyone who is a thrill seeker. Like me! :)
